I am a science teacher.  For the past 17 years I have dealt with fundamentalists who refuse to look at scientific evidence and instead rely on dogmatic beliefs with no testable evidence to back up what they assert.  And yet they call me closed-minded when I refuse to accept what they say with no evidence.  I will be happy to discard anything I believe to be true, if provided with adequate evidence to the contrary. 

Dogma is unable to change.  It peeves me that people embrace dogmatism like it is a virtue, when it is more of a vice...
